Ephesians in 12 Sermons

Updated: Apr 15, 2020

Paul is writing to believers in Ephesus to both remind them who they are theologically and to prepare them to live in their diverse culture. Ephesus was influenced by many religious and mystical practices and the people had many gods from which to choose. With a proper theological grounding, believers can, with confidence, venture away from isolation and be influential for the Kingdom!

I divided Ephesians into two six part series. The first covers chapters 1-3, the theological foundation. The second covers chapters 4-6, the practical application.

I titled the first series "Right Here Right Now."

  • Ephesians 1:1-14: God Seeks, Saves, and Secures Forever.

  • Ephesians 1:15-23: A Greater Knowledge of God Produces a Greater Confidence in God.

  • Ephesians 2:1-10: You Have Been Saved to Serve.

  • Ephesians 2:11-22: In Christ, We Have Access to God and Others.

  • Ephesians 3:1-13: Your Responsibility Is to Make What Has Been Made Known to You Known to Others.

  • Ephesians 3:14-21: To Comprehend God's Power and Realize His Love, Should Inspire Us to Ask Big!

I titled the second series "Into the Wild."

  • Ephesians 4:1-16: A Unified Church Protects and Prepares Us For Life In The Wild.

  • Ephesians 4:17-24: What You Think Affects What You Do. What You Do Proves What You Believe.

  • Ephesians 4:25-32: What You Do Determines What You Become.

  • Ephesians 5:1-21: Decisions Have Consequences.

  • Ephesians 5:22-6:9: You Have a Responsibility, Not a Guarantee.

  • Ephesians 6:10-24: In Christ, There Is Power, Protection, and Possibilities.
